The Work Time Blues
Jun 25th, 2007 by Dan Standeven
Most of us have been there! Working at a job that we have been at for awhile, have become very proficient at, and generally enjoy. But there are those days when you sit there staring at your screen, your eyes are ready to close and you haven’t been able to motivate yourself to do anything. I am talking about work boredom, and the only reason I bring this up is because I had a bad case of it last week. For me it wasn’t that I didn’t have anything to do, I was working on something that I’ve done many times before. So luckily having the freedom I have I can take the time to surf the net. Now I realize that surfing the net doesn’t really help in this situation but I was curious to see if I could find some remedies or advice. I found a great article at AskMen.com that provided some tips on how to break the mid afternoon blues. The article called 10 Tips to Overcome Boredom in an Entry Level Job, listed 10 things you can do to get past the hump. I was able to take the advice and rejuvenate my day. I actually decided to put my current project aside and get a head start on a project I was scheduled to do next. This was a great way to get my brain active again and finish off my day.

I remember those days! That’s why it’s so important to find something you are really passionate about. Good post.
