I have been talking about Real Estate a lot lately which is the premise of my blog, but today i wanted to take a step back and talk about another recent passion of my mine. This is meant to be more silly than informative so take it for what it is worth.

Golf!

I haven’t played golf until this season probably for 8 years and probably 12-15 years on a consistent basis. It was time to get back into the game, I live in a city where we have the highest percentage of golfers in the world as well as the hightest per capita spending on golf.
So it gets a bit discouraging when your asked to play golf all the time and you say you don’t play the game. Anyways that is all past me know, I am know known as Dan (The Hack) Standeven and will proudly slice my Big Ben driver every chance i get.

There is a reason for this post well sort of, I thought i would give the list of advantages and disadvantages to a newbie in Golf. Well these are mine anyways.

Advantages:

You get to go hang out with your buddies for 4 hours surronded by beautiful sceneary.
You get to play a sport. (This might be considered a game).
You always meet the coolest people on the golf course.
Well for me, I can’t really help but relax.
You can drink beer.
You can drink beer.
You can drink beer.
You get a chance to break away from reality for awhile, no bills, or loans, or anything to worry about.
You might get the chance to lay on the beach or go for a swim, a little tree hugging once in awhile as well.
You can be an awesome golfer or a hack and nobody cares.
You have a chance to release your frustrations on that little white ball.
Well in my case because just about everyone i know golfs, It’s a great way to spend time with your friends.

There are going to be a lot less of these but their are a few!

Disadvantages:

It is a very hard game to become good at.
Hitting that ball straight doesn’t happen very often (That could be the beer, but i don’t think so).
The Cost! $900 for clubs, $100 for shoes, $20 for a golf glove, not to mention the $25 i spend every 3 rounds for new balls, oh yeah and $50 a round thats on the cheap end.
Trying to find your ball in grass that is up to your knees.
Getting stuck with a couple of jack asses when its just you and your buddy.

Anyways thats my lighthearted post for the day! I’ll get back to the real stuff soon.
