I found a great clip about the Canadian real estate boom and how it we might not see an end to it for awhile. It is amazing in my home country how crazy the real estate market has been. I live in one of the hottest markets in Canada, Calgary Alberta and in the last year or two almost every piece of real estate has doubled in value. It is an exciting and scary time right now being involved in this crazy boom, its interesting to see what is going to happen in the next 5 years.

They should really take heed from the real estate market in America, because what goes up must come down!
Although I can’t imagine that the boom will last forever, what I’m hoping will happen is that the prices settle out for a while without a major decrease.
You never know what is going to happen in the market. but I don’t think the housing prices in Calgary specifically will go down. I think over the past 5 years the prices have actually caught up to the housing prices in the other major cities in Canada
As a West Toronto Realtor I ´m observing the situation on Canadian real estate market and according to the experts rising prices and slightly higher mortgage rates are expected to soften the demand for new homes in 2008. I have to say, that in Toronto the market is not so hot as in Calgary, Vancouver and so on, but prices were risen dramatically in past two years.
Personally, I hope, that property values will remain stable and the real estate market will continue to show strong growth.
