Happy Labour/Labor Day everyone!!
We all need those reminders about some maintenance Tips on our Homes. Just a bit of maintenance now may keep those big repair costs down later. I thought I would put out a small reminder at the beginning of every few months to prepare for the upcoming season. Here are a few tips for the Fall and early Winter seasons.
- Check fireplaces and chimneys, clean if necessary
- Clean or replace hood filters
- Remove leaves, dirt, and any blockages from eavesthroughs
- Check your roof for any damage or wear and tear
- Close outdoor hose connections
- Close skylights and Windows
- Clean and reactivate HRV
- Winterize landscaping
- Replace or clean the furnace filter
- Clean Humidifier and turn it on
- Check Exhaust Fans
- Close vents to crawlspaces
Check back at the beginning of January and I will post more maintenance tips for the Winter and early Spring seasons.
