Happy Labour/Labor Day everyone!!

We all need those reminders about some maintenance Tips on our Homes. Just a bit of maintenance now may keep those big repair costs down later. I thought I would put out a small reminder at the beginning of every few months to prepare for the upcoming season. Here are a few tips for the Fall and early Winter seasons.

  • Check fireplaces and chimneys, clean if necessary
  • Clean or replace hood filters
  • Remove leaves, dirt, and any blockages from eavesthroughs
  • Check your roof for any damage or wear and tear
  • Close outdoor hose connections
  • Close skylights and Windows
  • Clean and reactivate HRV
  • Winterize landscaping
  • Replace or clean the furnace filter
  • Clean Humidifier and turn it on
  • Check Exhaust Fans
  • Close vents to crawlspaces

Check back at the beginning of January and I will post more maintenance tips for the Winter and early Spring seasons.

I’ve got all of these on the ‘to-do’ list. Hopefully, I’ll get to them all by May!
