Deal With Motivated Sellers Why?

Trying to find a great deal in Real Estate, even if the market is hot is tough but don’t give up they do exist. Basically the only way to get a great deal is to find a Motivated Seller. People that are motivated aren’t going to come out and say hey look at me I really really need to sell my house. So you or your real estate agent are going to have to ask some questions and get a feel for the person selling their home. Some great indicators of motivated sellers are Divorce, Repairs that have become overwhelming, Job Transfer to a new city, or Death of a loved one.
- Divorce: As terrible as divorce is, it does happen and it happens to 50% of couples. Usually in this case your going to find out pretty soon if someone is going through a divorce, and most often they want to get rid of everything that they built together, even that house.
- Repairs that Become Overwhelming: House repairs can be a huge job especially if you are inexperienced. When house-flipping projects become overwhelming, investors want to get out before their nightmare gets worse. This is a great time to find a good deal on property. In most cases the investors have already done half of the renovations, so all that’s left is to become someone’s savior and finish the renovations off.
- Loss of a Loved One: In these times of emotional stress, handling the estate of your loved one can be quite the task. These properties are usually sold quite quickly and usually to a reasonable first offer. Taking care of family property and belongings are big steps in the healing process for most people.
- New Job in New City: Time constraints on when people have to move are usually the biggest motivator in this situation. If a Seller is getting near the end of this timeline, their motivation increases rapidly. If you can time it just right, there are some good opportunities for great deals. Most people are motivated by the fact that they don’t want to pay down 2 mortgages.
These are just a few reasons why people become motivated to sell their homes. Like I said their are deals out there, you just have to find them.
