Could a frozen dead person decompose?
I was thinking about this the other day.
Lets say someone froze to death, and they were in a place where it was ALWAYS cold. Like the top of a mountain for example.
Would their body decompose inside the ice?
Or would they stay in their human form; flesh?
If they don't decompose, shouldn't there be a whole bunch of frozen dead people at the top of everest, or other mountains?
No, they don't decompose. although they do dry out. However, there usually aren't all that many people hanging around places that never thaw, and people who die at Everest don't do so at the top, but wherever they fell or were buried by an avalanche or snowstorm. Everest is big - the bodies are widely scattered and most are difficult to find.
