Neon Light Signs
We read from many literature pertaining to shooting landscapes at night. Things like a sturdy tripod, low ISO, small aperture, etc are inseparable for night landscape photography.
Many photographers told me that they prefer shooting cities at night. That will allow them to capture the beautiful urban lights. Not to forget light trails from moving vehicles in a busy traffic. Who will like to miss out the eye-catching neon-lit signs?
These will surely produce beautiful and attractive photographs which can very likely impress your viewers. The question is how do you differentiate yourself, if every photographer is doing and shooting the same thing?
You can consider taking night photography from a different perspective. Not necessary you will always have to include a range of buildings in the cityscape, or to have a foreground in your frame.
Why not having a longer lens to capture tighter shots? Instead of framing a series of buildings, try zooming into a particular section of the building which emits bright and beautiful lights. Such shots can be abstract and you can trigger your viewers' curiosity.
If there is a river or a puddle of water in front of the buildings, make good use of it. Why not try shooting the reflections, capturing the lights from the buildings? Once again, you can just shoot a portion of the buildings to make your photographs unique!
I am sure your photographs will even be more attractive after rain. Make good use of raindrops on metallic surfaces or window glasses, to produce random, abstract and eye-catching photographs.
Instead of shooting light trails of cars either from ground level or on overhead bridges, try capturing light trails of double decker bus. I am sure the photographs will be even more amazing!

Neon Lights And Black And White Photography?
Im In An Intro To Photography Class And For Our Last Project I'm Thinking About Taking Photos Of Old Motels With The Neon Light Signs, Does Anyone Have Any Tips About Taking Photos Of Neon Lights With Black And White Film? Or Does Anyone Have Any Other Project Ideas Consisting Of Lights?
You will have to do a test using your preferred film. Using a tripod, shoot exposures starting at 3 stops under exposed from what your camera suggests. Then in 1/3 stop increments make exposures at each value and then shoot a few over exposed shots as well.
What this will give you is the perfect exposure for your needs that gives some detail in the shadow area, yet does not overexpose the lights. Use a smaller f/stop (f/8 to f/16 would be a good range) and just adjust your shutter speed.
Once you have viewed your contacts and made a print of the two or three you think are best, then you can go back out and shoot more old hotels and motels with neon lights and have good exposures for them all.
In your notes you will probably state that to get the best exposure for signage is to under expose ... 1-1/3rd stop or what ever you find is the best for your camera, film and lighting circumstances.

I always see to it that the home school science curriculum I design helps you to learn at your home, using examples from everyday life and materials you can find around your home. You use electricity every day. Can you imagine life without electricity? Static electricity is electricity that is static or stationary, and we experience it on a daily basis. Have you ever experienced a shock as you touched your door knob?
No, your door knob did not have an electric wire connected to it. The electric charge is on your body. What you did not remember is that before touching the door knob you had rubbed your feet on your carpet as you walked over it. As your shoes rubbed over the carpet a static electricity developed over it. Electrons got collected over your shoes and your skin, and these electrons jumped onto the metal knob at the first opportunity. ZAP!
We also know that unlike charges attract. Here are a few simple fun activities which I always include in the homeschool science curriculum that I teach.
Try these out!
Rub your shoes over your carpet and touch your friend's fingertip with your fingertip. Zappo!
Do the same and hold a neon bulb at one end. Watch it glow!
Rub a plastic comb over a woolen sweater and hold it near some pieces of paper or a ping pong ball. The pieces of paper stick to the comb or the ping pong ball rolls towards the comb.
Rub a latex balloon over your hair and raise the balloon. A hair raising experience
Do the same and take the balloon near a wall. It sticks.
Hold this balloon containing a charge near a stream of water flowing from a faucet.
Rub a lit-up fluorescent bulb with a few materials such as wool, silk, saran wrap, etc.
Now let's get on to our next topic: Light. We see an apple when light reflecting off the apple falls on our eyes. We cannot see the apple in the dark because there is no light to reflect off the apple. To understand how our eyes work, here's an experiment that has amazed me as a child and therefore I include it in every home school science curriculum I design.
Pinhole Camera: Take a cardboard box (A shoe box will do) with no holes or cracks in it. Preferably paint it black on the insides to reduce the unnecessary reflection of light. Make a small pinhole on one vertical side towards one end of the box and cut open the opposite side. Tape a piece of tracing paper or wax paper over the open side. Your pinhole camera is now ready.
Aim your camera at some well lit-up object and notice the image that appears on the tracing paper. Adjust the distance of the camera from the object or hold a magnifying glass before the pinhole to get a sharper image. You will notice that the image is upside down. Your eye works in a similar way.
The rays of light enter your eye through a small hole called the iris. The rays are projected on a screen at the back of the eyeball called the retina. Similar to your pinhole camera, >the image is upside down, but your brain turns the image right side up so that you can see it.

Dodge Neon 1996 losing power What is wrong?
I have a Dodge Neon that keeps losing power. will be going fine and then just all of a sudden cuts off. But will start back up in 1 or 2 tries and go again..What is the problem?
I've changed the filters and put a RTR sensor on it; Cam Sensor and it is still doing it. At first it was doing it like every 1/2 mile now just like every now and then.
Do you have a CEL (check engine light) on? Have you either scanned it or cycled the ignition to pull up the codes? If not, do that first as not all fault codes illuminate the CEL.
Intermittent faults are more difficult to trace down but typical Neon problem areas for this type of thing are the ignition coil, cam and/or crank positions sensor, and bad/loose ground or contact.

Ways to Advertise Your Business With Neon Sign

Where can I get beer/liquor neon signs inexpensively? I've heard that liquor stores are a good place...?
My friend told me that liquor stores often have extra signs they don't use and will give away for free. However, I went to a couple liquor stores and they said that they couldn't help me. I really want a couple signs to decorate my new place, but at $200-$500 a pop new, they're way out of my price range
The beer co. actually own those signs,but on ebay or craigslist you can get them for cheap.

Power switch pt2?
I have been given a Tiny computer.
Initially I had problems with the power switch being disconnected. I have now fully wired this up (found it on the net).
I now get the LED showing power, but nothing else, even the CD draw doesn't open, no sign of the hard disc spinning, and the monitor remains blank.
I'm now thinking that the Power Supply may be faulty, though the fan is spinning & power is going to the front LED.
Is there any way that I can check this out?
If I had a spare it would be easy.
If I need a new one I'll need the right connections, what should I be asking for?
If I can get it up and running I will be donating it to a worthy cause.
You could be flying in the dark here. you say you have the power led showing, this must mean power is going round the motherboard, but if that were the case then the cd hdd and other components should be heard to be running. Does the cpu fan spin?
Tiny computers are a bit odd, even though the architecture is industry standard, somethings on the pc are small hence the brand name, by this I mean the case is the smallest , a pygmy could get inside one, the power supplies are much more compact than normal hence you will need to get a power supply ( if faulty) small enough to fit the case. The power supply must be connected to the motherboard with the 20 pin power pug, the molex plugs must be connected to the hdd and cd etc and the front panel connectors connected to the board in order to switch it on. Health Club Memberships – Good for You
Giant neon lighted billboards of men showing their abs; women in their skimpiest swim wear proudly displaying their curvaceous bodies; full page newspaper and prime time TV ads extolling the advantages of being fit. The fitness fever is raging!
People want to lose the love handles, the beer bellies and the ego deflating unwanted fat. Various weight loss diets have comeand left, the latest exercise equiment has been raved about but the popularity of fitness clubs is still gaining ground. Membership in a health center is increasing and is is now at an all time high. The American Sports Data projected that by year 2030, the health club membership will steadily rise from 35 million to 70 million.
Flashing a health club membership card seems to be a status symbol. After all fees to become a member, especially to posh health clubs, can be quite expensive. Additionally, it is a sign that the member is aware of the health hazards of not staying physically active. Getting a health club membership card means that the person is aware of the need to exercise and desires to be physically fit to prevent coronary heart diseases, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes as well as various cancers that are commonly associated with being overweight.
Naturally, an exercise regimen can be done at home. Why then do people join health club? First off is the motivation that the environment of the health clubs provides. Exercising alone can be tough. Being surrounded by friends and other people who have the same goal is motivating. Fitness centers are staffed with certified trainers and health card staff who will guide members on the proper techniques of exercising minus the risks of incurring injuries. Personal trainers will custom design programs that will suit a member’s particular needs. Most health clubs have nutritionists and dieticians who will recommend the correct diet that will speed up the realization of the weight loss goal.
A membership card will give you access to various types of exercise equipment as well as other amenities like saunas and institutional sized swimming pools, tennis courts and running tracks. Since health clubs are well maintained facilities it will always be the right temperature to do the stretching, the weight lifting and all the other exercises needed to lose weight and to tone the muscles.
Health club membership does have several downsides too. For one, membership can be pretty expensive. The location of the fitness club counts a lot too. Chances are membership in a fitness club that is not easily accessible would be wasted money as the member would find excuses not to go. The same thing is true with a fitness club that is too crowded or one that has unfriendly or “invisible” staff. A new member just starting on a program needs to be guided by professionals. In some cases though, in house trainers have many customers and getting their attention is quite hard.
Health clubs do have pros and cons. It would be up to the prospective member to choose the right club that would suit his needs.

hmmm what do people think about a guy wearing a fitted blue (pretty much neon blue) jeans?
Okay recently i bought a pair of club monaco neon blue jeans for $20 bucks. I liked how it feel and was little bit questionable about the color but i bought it anyway. Im just asking do anyone find neon blue fitted jeans on a guy weird?
if it helps il probably be wearing a black fitted tee or a white tee and a black sweater vest over it
hot hot hot! colored skinny jeans on guys looks really good, but only certain people like that style. I personaly like it, I honestly can say i dont remember the last time i purchused any fit of jeans that werent skinny, and also, i only own 1 pair of plain blue jeans out of all 14 pairs of jeans i own total!!! haha.
As for the shirt, id fer sure go with a black fitted tee. very nice.
